Bruce Lee Biopic: Ram Gopal Varma Vs Shekhar Kapur




Bruce Lee is a martial artist and became an actor in martial arts films of 1970's to 1980's.
There's a new Bruce Lee biopic in the works which going to start by Shannon Lee,daughter of Bruce and sister of Brandon on own company "Bruce Lee Entertainments" announced recently.
They would produce the film about the life of a martial artist and actor.

The Bruce Lee biopic is in the hands of Shekhar Kapur is to direct the movie about the martial arts icon in a new way.


The Little Dragon (working title) project is currently in pre-production and is planned as a U. S. -China-Hong Kong co-pro financed by the Dadi Media Group, Beijing Golden World Pictures, Shanghai Longzhilin Cultural Investment Partnership and Kirin Media. 

Bruce Lee Entertainment’s Shannon Lee (the martial arts legend’s daughter) is co-writing with Kapur. 


The story takes place in 1950s Hong Kong, where a young Bruce Lee is forced to come face-to-face with his family’s disappointment,young love, true friendship, betrayal, racism, deep hardship and the inner fire that threatens to unravel his destiny. Pre-production is now under way, ahead of an anticipated shoot from July in Malaysia.

Shekhar Kapur officially mentions and announced the details in his twitter account.



Ram Gopal Varma is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer, known for his works in Telugu cinema and Bollywood, Monday he responds to Shekhar Kapur tweet on Monday that he is also will start biopic on Bruce Lee and release it same time as Shekar Kapur's one."


He also shared a link of his article titled "Bruce Lee is the one and only who I loved more than sex", posted on his Facebook page.

Varma feels he can do justice to Lee's biopic. "In spite of  the closeness of family and  the brilliance of Shekhar Kapur, I believe only I can do justice to his biopic," he tweeted.

Varma claims he knows, tremendously more about Bruce Lee than his daughter Shannon Lee, his wife Linda Lee and Kapur.
